Warranty & Guarantee
Last updated: October 2026. Every wood floor installed by Euro Floors London Ltd is executed to the highest standards of British craftsmanship and backed by our dedicated 12-month installation guarantee.
In-House Installation Workmanship Guarantee
Euro Floors London Ltd provides a comprehensive 12-month installation workmanship warranty for all wood flooring, bespoke herringbone parquet, chevron panels, and luxury vinyl installations carried out by our employed installation craftspeople.
This guarantee covers any defects directly attributable to installation methods, including: subfloor adhesive failure, hollow bonding spots, perimeter expansion gap errors, threshold profile detachment, and skirting/beading fixing defects.
2. Compliance with British Standard BS 8201:2011
All installations adhere strictly to BS 8201:2011 (Code of practice for installation of flooring of wood and wood-based products). Our technical process guarantees:
- Digital Moisture Testing: Subfloor relative humidity is verified prior to fitting (must read below 75% RH; otherwise, a liquid damp proof membrane / DPM is applied).
- Surface Regularity: Subfloors are prepared to SR1 or SR2 flatness tolerances (maximum 3mm deviation under a 2m straight edge).
- Expansion Allowance: Natural seasonal movement is accounted for by including 10mm to 15mm perimeter expansion gaps beneath skirting boards or matching perimeter beading.
3. Manufacturer Material Warranties (15 to 25 Years)
In addition to our 12-month installation workmanship warranty, all flooring materials supplied by Euro Floors London carry individual manufacturer structural and wear layer warranties, ranging from 15 to 25 years for residential use:
- Structural Integrity: Covers delamination or structural breakdown of the multi-layer engineered core under normal residential conditions.
- Wear Layer: Covers premature wear-through of the top hardwood timber surface down to the core ply within the warranty duration.
4. Underfloor Heating (UFH) Protocols
Engineered hardwood is highly compatible with water-based and modern electric underfloor heating systems when installed in accordance with standard commissioning protocols:
- The heating system must have been fully commissioned, run, and cooled prior to timber delivery and acclimatisation.
- Maximum subfloor surface temperature must never exceed 27°C (80°F) at any point beneath the wood floor.
- Temperature changes should be gradual (no more than 2°C adjustment per 24-hour period) to avoid thermal shock to natural timber fibers.
5. Client Care & Maintenance Obligations
Because wood is an authentic natural living material, preserving your warranty requires observing standard timber care best practices:
6. Warranty Exclusions
Our workmanship warranty does not cover issues resulting from circumstances outside our control:
- Flooding, leaking plumbing, roof leaks, or hydrostatic ground water pressure occurring after installation.
- Extreme relative humidity shifts outside the recommended 40%–60% RH range causing timber shrinkage (gapping) or excessive cupping.
- Improper underfloor heating operation (temperatures exceeding 27°C).
- Accidental damage, dropped heavy objects, deep pet claw gouges, or dragging unpadded appliances across the floor.
- Normal wear and natural patination over time, including gradual mellowing or tone shifts caused by direct UV sunlight exposure.
